Abstract

This project focuses on the integration of AI video analytics within digital health solutions to improve patient care and operational efficiency in hospitals. We are piloting a joint initiative with Siemens Ward Manager, integrating AerWatch for real-time video-based monitoring and AerMeal for advanced meal management across hospitals in Switzerland, the US, and Australia.   AerWatch enhances hospital staff safety by continuously monitoring for potentially dangerous situations, and providing real-time alerts to mitigate risks. It also improves patient safety by monitoring specific activities, such as tracking bathroom visits, to reduce accidents. AerMeal ensures precise meal delivery using AI and LiDAR technology to track nutritional compliance, automating meal data entry into the Siemens Ward Manager system. This integration helps nursing staff quickly identify discrepancies, ensuring patient meals meet dietary needs and medication schedules are followed accurately.   Initial feedback from our pilot implementations has shown improved staff safety and increased patient confidence in their care. The cloud-based platform, combined with scalable AI video analytics and meal monitoring systems, ensures easy deployment across various healthcare settings. By integrating these AI-driven solutions, our project enhances communication and collaboration among healthcare teams, leading to more efficient and equitable care delivery. This approach helps create a personalised, accessible, and inclusive healthcare system, improving outcomes for patients and staff alike.
