Abstract
In tonight’s address I have set myself two basic aims: to introduce some of the early Australian botany textbooks for schools, and to set these in the then prevailing educational environment.
The University of Sydney acknowledges that its campuses and facilities sit on the ancestral lands of Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander peoples, who have for thousands of generations exchanged knowledge for the benefit of all.
