Abstract

Mark Taylor has rightly written, "The masterpiece necessarily depends upon the subject's 'answering imagination'. This dependence means that the masterpiece can never be finished and must always be refinished. Insofar as (the) work is forever incomplete, its meaning can never be fully present."
