Abstract

 

This special issue journal aims to provide a critical understanding of how the notion of 'partnership' is constructed in various Pacific education contexts.

Author Biographies

Eve Coxon, University of Auckland

Eve Coxon is Associate Professor in the School of Critical Studies and Director of the Research Unit in Pacific and International Education in the University of Auckland’s Faculty of Education. For many years she has been involved in a wide range of research and research-based teaching, consultancy and advisory activities relating to education in the regional Pacific. A central focus of this work has been the role of educational aid in enhancing sustainable and equitable education development.

Elizabeth Cassity, University of Sydney

Elizabeth Cassity is a lecturer and researcher in the Faculty of Education and Social Work, University of Sydney. She has spent her academic career in research and teaching in the field of Comparative and International Education with a focus on education in the Pacific and East Asia. From 2007-2009 she conducted research on a major Australian Research Council Linkage grant examining Australian aid to education in East Asia and the Pacific. She has published in the fields of foreign aid and international educational development, policy studies, and youth transition.
