Editorial Policies

Focus and Scope

This journal publishes the proceedings from the Australian Conference on Science and Mathematics Education (ACSME) which is for tertiary science and mathematics educators to share ideas and keep up to date.

Conference proceedings encompass biological sciences, chemistry, geosciences, health sciences, information technology, learning and cognitive sciences, mathematics and statistics, molecular and microbial sciences, physics and psychology as well as the various fields of the applied sciences.

This year, the theme is A Science Education for Uncertain Times

Now it is more important than ever to develop science graduates who can contribute meaningfully to solving the problems of a complex world facing numerous challenges. The current health crisis that came upon us so suddenly exemplifies the need to be able to pivot and adapt quickly to new circumstances. How are we preparing our science students for the uncertainties they will no doubt encounter in their working lives? How are we as educators changing our teaching practices to achieve this?

Peer Review Process

We will be accepting both refereed and non-refereed papers and all refereed papers will be subject to peer review.

 

Publication Frequency

The conference proceedings will be published online as a single Issue immediately prior to the conference in September 2020.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

This publication contains the full proceedings of the Australian Conference on Science and Mathematics Education
