Shetty & Vivek., Vernonia pothigaiana Chellad. & Gopalan and Vernonia pulneyensis Gamble shows the diagnostic features of Acilepis rather than Vernonia sensu stricto. Hence, they are transferred from Vernonia Schreb. to Acilepis D. Don.
