Submissions are invited for the inaugural issue of Health Education in Practice: Journal of Research for Professional Learning. This new electronic journal is dedicated to research and evaluation related to health education in practice. As an open access publication, the journal is designed to encourage dialogues with national and international communities of practice.

Articles will be published periodically throughout the year and compiled in two issues a year. Due date for the first round of submission is 22nd January 2018.

The first issue of Health Education in Practice: Journal of Research for Professional Learning will feature papers from prominent professionals and academics, including Adjunct Prof Annette Solman, Prof Peter Goodyear, and Prof Tim Shaw.
Annette Solman, Adjunct Professor and Chief Executive of the NSW Health Education and Training Institute
Annette is Adjunct Professor at the University of Sydney and the University of Technology, Sydney, and Chief Executive of the NSW Health Education and Training Institute. Initially trained as a registered nurse, Annette has had a rich and diverse career across health. Immediately prior to joining the Institute, Annette was Executive Director responsible for Education and Training at the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) where a major component of her work included development of the Strategic Plan for SCHN Education and Implementation and designed the inter-professional model of education delivery.
Annette has strong interests in person-centred care, its application within educational program design, to support implementation and evaluation for enhancing workforce practices. In addition to contributing to academic publication, she is a member on the International Practice Development Journal Editorial Board and the Comprehensive Child and Adolescent Nursing journal.
Peter Goodyear, Professor of Education at the University of Sydney
Peter Goodyear is prominent academic who has published 11 books and over 120 journal articles and book chapters. He is currently Professor of Education at the University of Sydney, a position he has occupied since 2003. Peter's research interests include design for learning, networked learning, complex learning spaces, the nature of professional knowledge, and professional education. His current program of research aims to strengthen the use of 'designerly ways of thinking' in education.
Tim Shaw, Professor of eHealth, Director of Research in Implementation Science and eHealth (RISe)
Tim Shaw is an internationally recognised leader in the impact of technology on healthcare and translation of evidence into practice and policy. His research interests include how emerging health data can be used by teams to enhance clinician and team performance, development of interactive dashboards (targeted online education programs), technology's role in supporting new patient-centred models of care, use of telehealth to support remote care, and how facilitated networks and online communities of practice can support translational, multidisciplinary care. In Tim's research, he focuses on practical outcomes and working closely with clinicians, managers and operational teams in healthcare facilities.
