Author Biography

Shale Preston, Macquarie University

Shale Preston has published poetry, short stories, essays, and reviews as well as a non-fiction book based on her PhD thesis called Dickens and the Despised Mother: A Critical Reading of Three Autobiographical Novels. In addition, she has co-edited a collection of essays published by Routledge called Queer Victorian Families: Curious Relations in Literature. She grew up in Sydney and has worked in a range of fields including journalism, research, editing, and education. Currently, she is working on an historical novel set in Australia in the nineteenth century.
