This is the third and final article on the taxonomic revision of southern African Metzgeriaceae. The widespread species, Metzgeria consanguinea, M. furcata and M. leptoneura are described, illustrated and their geographical distributions mapped. Metzgeria furcata is newly reported from Lesotho, Free State and Gauteng Province of South Africa.
