Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

 

All manuscripts are initially pre-screened by the editorial team. Manuscripts that are considered to meet the basic requirements and profile of the journal then undergo double-blind peer review.

We accpet manuscripts of 5000-6000 words long, including references, tables and figures.

The International Education Journal: Comparative Perspectives adheres to the American Psychological Association (APA) reference style. We also use APA heading style.

The text should be double-spaced throughout with a 12 point font size.

Please submit a blind copy of the entire manuscript (e.g., does not include author details).

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. THE JOURNAL IS NOW ACCEPTING NEW PAPERS
  2. •   Manuscript length is between 5,000-6,000 words, including tables, figures and references.

    •   Details of authors have not been included on the manuscript (to facilitate anonymous review of the article).

    •   Manuscript has not have been submitted to any other journal.

  3. •   Manuscript is submitted in Word .doc or .docx format.

    •   Text is standard font (e.g. Arial, Times New Roman) at least 11 point and no more than 13 point (except for title and headings) with margins set at between 2.5 and 3 cm.

    •   Lines in the manuscript are one-and-a-half or double-spaced throughout.

    •   Heading levels are clearly marked. This is best achieved by numbering headings (e.g. 1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1). Up to three orders of headings is acceptable.

  4. •   Only the first word and proper nouns in a title are capitalized.

    •   Footnotes have been kept to a minimum and numbered consecutively.

    •   Figures and tables have been integrated into the text. All figures and tables should be numbered consecutively and must be referred to in the text.

  5. •   Information is included in the paper concerning ethical clearance provided for the study (if relevant).

  6. •   APA style (6th edition) has been used for in text references and reference list (bibliography).

  7. •   doi for articles, where available, has been included in the reference list (do not include URL if doi is available).

    •   All hyperlinks from text and references have been removed.

  8. •   Metadata details (when submitting article through journal website) have been completed, including: all author and co-author contact and affiliation details, manuscript type, keywords, abstract, and bibliography.

The International Education Journal: Comparative Perspectives is the official journal of the Oceania Comparative and International Education Society. The IEJ, (ISSN 1443-1475), publishes a general volume bi-annually in July and December and also publishes its Conference Procedings and Special Editions occasionally.

The IEJ utilises a non-exclusive copyright license agreement with its authors. Copies of any article listed in IEJ issues may be made only at the written consent of the IEJ Editor. Author(s) retain the right to distribute the article for teaching and research purposes, ensuring that reference to The International Education Journal: Comparative Perspectives is clearly stated on any copies made. The author(s) may use or re-use the article published in future collections of academic work but no more than 30% of the article can be reproduced in a book chapter. The re-used material has to be referenced to the International Education Journal: Comparative Perspectives. Single images, tables or figures can be re-used with reference to International Education Journal: Comparative Perspectives. If more than a single image or table are to be re-used authors must seek permission of the IEJ Editor. Authors may also make derivative works which are subject to these limitations.
