This issue focuses on large-scale water transfer and pipeline engineering projects designed to address climate-driven water scarcity and regional imbalances. The featured studies integrate hydraulic modeling, geospatial analysis, and risk assessment to evaluate the feasibility of transporting freshwater across vast distances; from inter-basin transfers in the Philippines to transboundary pipelines spanning Canada to the Great Plains and Alaska to California. These works explore critical engineering considerations such as route optimization, pressure loss modeling, pump station design, and material selection, critically evaluating these aspects through economic, environmental, and social perspectives. Collectively, they highlight the role of chemical and civil engineering in developing climate-resilient infrastructure that balances technical feasibility, sustainability, and geopolitical challenges.
