This essay explores some of the lesser-known points of connection between the art worlds of Australia and New Zealand from the early to the mid-twentieth century.

Author Biography

Martin Edmond

Martin Edmond was born in New Zealand in 1952 and has lived in Sydney since 1981. He is the author of number of books including ‘Double Lives: Rex Battarbee and Albert Namatjira’, due out from Giramondo Publishing in 2014. In October, 2013, he was awarded the NZ Prime Minister’s Award for Literary Achievement in Non-fiction.’
