Abstract

The paper examines how desire is expressed in Fullerton's love poems, written by a woman who eschewed the label 'lesbian' and regarded her lifelong companion, Mabel Singleton, as a friend. It problematises the category of 'romantic friendship' often used to describe such relationships.
