Abstract

Studying at virtual universities has recently become more widespread. A critical issue yet to be fully addressed is how to deal with assessments and examinations on-line. In conventional education students often focus only on material that is examinable. Too much of the student's attention is given to passing an examination rather than developing a deeper understanding of the subject. Another problem is the organization of on-line examinations when students are spread throughout the world and hence control may not be guaranteed.
